Cosmetology students visit Ben Hill Middle

FITZGERALD, GA - News release from Wiregrass Georgia Technical College

Wiregrass cosmetology students Kimberly Ellington Helms, Amanda Warren, and Sakecia Quarterman visited Ben Hill Middle School on April 20. 

This was coordinated to be a reward for qualified students from school officials. The cosmetology students provided basic manicure services to each the middle school student.

Wiregrass offers day and extended day cosmetology programs on the Ben Hill-Irwin campus. Summer semester begins May 21, and Fall Semester begins on August 22.

FITZGERALD, GA – The Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Chamber of Commerce will have a ribbon cutting for White’s Pest Control Friday, May 18 at 10 a.m.

The ribbon cutting will be at 206. North Main Street.

Adult Education math class to be offered on weekends

FITZGERALD, GA – News release from Wiregrass Georgia Technical College

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s Adult Education Program will be offering a weekend math class.

This class is for individuals who have not successfully passed the math portion of the GED test or who just need math to obtain their GED.

The math review session will be an intense and quick review of some math topics that will help prepare you to achieve the score needed to successfully pass the GED math test.

Dougherty Gang appears in Albany courtroom

ALBANY, GA- Lee Grace, Dylan and Ryan Dougherty will appear in an Albany courtroom for the first time Tuesday morning.  The trio led police on several high speed chases and more than one shootout.

The trio face a laundry list of charges here in Georgia. A crime spree plus Lee Grace, Dylan and Ryan Dougherty in three states equals tons of charges.

Their shootout and high speed chase ended in Colorado. It all started in Florida, after they shot at officers trying to make a get away.

First day of WGTC summer classes

BEN HILL, COFFEE, and LOWNDES COUNTIES, GA – The first day of summer classes for Summer A classes and full term classes for all Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Campuses will be Monday, May 21.

The new student orientation will be Thursday, May 17.
